ADMIN NOTE.  CAUTION.  THE LINK BELOW IS NOT SECURE AS OF THIS MORNING 2/27. CLIENT INFO IS NOT "HIDDEN." COMPANY HAS BEEN ALERTED

I upgraded to a Native Slayer Propel 13 and wanted to mount a Scotty mini laketroller in the flush rod mount with Scotty Gimball mount. I'v never use a downrigger before but researching tells me swap out the cable for braid and 4lb wight will be max for this downrigger? My question is will the area or flush rod mount hold up to trolling with 4lb wight?  Also is this a wight? For $2.59 when a Cannon 4lb cost thirty something at sportsman wharehouse. http://www.iboats.com/Seasense-Finned-Flash-Weight/

That's one helluva price. You might wanna take down the link or order some before it runs out. Only 87 left in stock.

A buddy of mine showed me some cannon DR balls for $8 or so on amazon (varying sizes, $8/12#) and that didn't last long.

Is it lead? How's the shipping cost? If not and your close to bps it might be cheaper to go there. Powder coated cast iron for around $15.

I can imagine that if you're in a pinch, or really don't want to spend too much money, some 2lb or heavier salmon weights should do. Just add a swivel on the end though to reduce line twist. And yes, I think your kayak should be fine.

Lead is better it won't rust and is smaller. Cast iron is usually a little more cost effective. But either way you freakin scored.
