Imagine what a giant octopus could do!

My father  isn’t a BSer and has told this story several times of when he was in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII.
He volunteered for some extra duty (another story ) with the promise of a free day off ship.  He had been at sea for several months and jumped at the opportunity.  He and several other ship mates were allowed to take a skiff ashore to an atoll while the ship was under anchor getting resupplied nearby.
My father was from the Midwest and had never experienced things like tropical waters so he was enjoying exploring a coral reef, wading in couple feet of water   He saw a small octopus, reached down and grabbed it to get a closer look at it. The small octopus grabbed onto his arm and he was having a difficult time taking it off.  As soon as he would one tentacle off another would wrap around his arm.  It was then that maybe 10 feet away a MUCH larger octopus stood up out of the water, reaching maybe 3-4 feet  above the surface.  He figured maybe it was mama coming to help the baby.  He said that, in a panic, he doesn’t know how, he managed to get the small octopus off his arm, he jumped in the water and swam frantically to the skiff without looking back.
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

That was FAST!   But let's think about this... if you built a fire around that pool, you'd have a helluva good crab/octopus stew!
