Im looking to upgrade my smoker and have been looking at the yoder ys640.all I know is this thing is pricey.around 2k, I was wondering if anyone has used one and has any info on any local dealers that carry them or know of any sites that may have them for a little better price
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

2k is a lot of money for a smoker. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth it.I have a strong affinity for weber, but if money were no object I would own a Klose.

Yeah thats whats keeping me just considering it.I would have to save up for it.I have a traeger at the moment and its a little small.I also have a weber kettle 22" that I use for grilling.I just dont want to fork out that kind of money and regret it.and at 2k and 315lbs it would not be an easy sell

I don't know anything about it bro, but I know that my 80$ smoker I made works just as good as anything else.  It's just a box full of smoke, more money might make a better box, but the end result is still on you!

If I were to throw 2k on something that holds coal and meat, it would be a big green egg...

Vince, you have the small Traeger? I have the bigger one from Costco. The Yoder you reference to is $1349, about $500 more than the Traeger. The closest dealer is Diablo Grills in Walnut Creek.

I have a Good-win smoker in my back yard. It cost about a grand but it is one hell of an industrial smoker. It is made our of 3/16 steel plate and can run for 12 hours on one load of good wood. I can also do two full sized briskets and still have room in it.
