Anyway to get rid of annoying robocalls?  We never answer the phone anymore and let it go to message.  We sometimes get up to 4 robocalls a day and now they are calling at night, sometimes after 9 or 10 pm which never used to happen.  I added our phone # to the National Do Not Call Registry several months ago which seems to not have done a damn thing.  I wish there was some way to fry their circuits through the phone on the asshats that are behind the robocall crap.

I agree, the Do Not Call list is not effective.  The good news about robocalls is that it discovered that I suffer from Turret's Syndrome or that I'm missing a chromosome.  Or maybe I should be asking for payment from them for talking dirty.

Triple amen to above. I'm at work in the studio and ring ring. Thinking it might be a client I answer and get Sarah, Misha, Jane.....If I could transport myself into an electron stream and back travel the airway to re-emerge where the call originated I'd strangle them with their own computer cords.

What gets me is that when I check the messages there is never a message!  There will be one "click" and that is it.  You would think after countless calls they would give up when no one answers the phone..........I tried blocking the calls but they use banks of phones so that does not work.

I added the robocalls to my block numbers list. In my case the callers had 408-264-xxxx and would change the last 4 digits.

I keep getting calls from "PG & E" looking to save me money by selling me solar panels.

They have called me 3x in two weeks, each time asking "do you spend more than $100 on your PG&E"

My elec bill is like, half that, with $10 coming from the analog meter "privilege". So annoying.

I'd let it go to VM, but like others said, it could be a client.

Some of the voip services can automatically cross reference the incoming number against a known spammer database and screen out those calls.

Even more anoying are the people who chase me down inside of Home Depot from Solar City.  They see me EVERY DAY and yet still insist on asking me EVERY DAY.  I've given them every excuse from "no, I rent" to "no, I already have solar" to "no, I don't have a roof" ... that one left them scratching their heads last time and a good laugh for me.  What ever happened to distraction free shopping?  First they were outside the stores .. now they are inside!  I've learned to avoid their area and not make eye contact till the day they were roaming the inside of the store. :smt012

Also, I have a Google voice number that I give out to businesses, and it rings my cell (after screening).  My personal number i only use for personal calls so I get very few junk calls.

That's my way to deal with them too.  I used to create a new email account for every new account I signed up for (like ebay, amazon, hook1, etc.) so that once I started getting spam to that address, I knew that company sold out my info to someone else.  I'll change my number in a heartbeat if those robo calls start happening to me.

How about the lady at Costco, who looks at your card from the clerk, then calls you by first name like she's your pal?  Pitching Costco Rewards.

Once, with my son, she started her pitch, holding a hand scanner.  I yelled out "Don't phase me Bro! Don't phase me Bro!"

We walked away leaving her flustered.

This is part of the reason why I am my son's hero.

PS Another good one, for the phone calls, is to start breathing heavy and ask "what are you wearing right now?"  to female OR male......subdued groans and grunts interspersed if they try to extend the conversation.

Ill often explain that the person they are asking for is taking a shit, and that he/she should be done soon. Ill ask the caller to wait, checking back every couple minuets to reassure them that the process is nearly complete.  Some callers have waited a surprisingly long time.

Gotta have fun with it.
