VHF Radio?

I was planning on picking up a VHF Radio and wanted to know if I have a Garmin Rino if the emergency radio on it will serve the same purpose. It would be nice not to have to buy something else if what I have would work for Ocean diving. If not any recommendations of VHF Radios.

The Rino is on the FRS (family radio service) band; basically a walkie-talkie.  No good to call for help unless you have others watching that channel.  VHF is monitored by USCG.

+1 That's very good advice, unless you want to buy another one. I've got one at the bottom of the Pacific somewhere.

On the other hand I did have a failure, but they sent me a replacement free of charge.

I just remembered one of the HOw radios has a problem, but I will get it taken care of this week.

Just saw that yesterday and am going to pull the trigger today.  Same price as Amazon's charging for the HX150. Well $20 more when you factor in the rebate, but damn, sign me up.

What Rebate???  My order should arrive today. It went up 5 bucks.. Keep in mind that it comes with a battery tray and free ground shipping along with no tax.
