I have always been a Maxima/Trilene user but lately I have been using Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Sufix ProMix,Seige and I am impressed.
Please comment on which style or name you use  XL,XT Big Game etc.  Two Votes

I try lots of lines, but I ALWAYS go back to Stren Original in clear.

I just like the way this line feels/ties/casts.

However, now I am a braid convert (with mono topshot, stren clear or fluoro).

Trilene or Stren for me.....but for fluorocarbon line, I only use Seaguar :smt002 (top shot with Power Pro braided line for backing)

As far as value and quality go ANDE is the ticket.  I've found that P ine is always stronger and has a thicker diameter than the labeled test strength so you may not be getting what you wanted.  I've used trilene on occasion but never liked stren.

i started with pline and maxima, now i stay away from both. Unless I need the flourescent green cxx by pline for night combat fishing, like at coyote pt.
I sticc strictly with yozuri and momoi diamond. Both cast great, not too much memory and good on abrasions. The momoi diamond line is like the pline cxx with out all the memory and better casting...

Old school P-line and Ande. I guess I'll have to try Braid here pretty soon.

What about us sickos that are fond of braided line.  I know it has it's downsides, but the low stretch and lower diameter to strength ratio is great.

As for braided line, I have tried many and lately have been satisfied with what ever is least expensive.

For mono, which I mostly use for leaders, I usually use stren.

Just digging through old posts, but my vote for Mono is definitely Momoi. I've pulled 70lb range rays out of barnacle encrusted pilings with 25lb Momoi.

Wow I expected Trilene to be far and away the leader I use XT and BG when I want a tough line and I am not worried about casting distance. I am surprised that Stren placed so highly. I have always been disappointed with Strens QC and knot strength. Glad to see people using Yo Zuri I have switched from Maxima to Hy-Brid both have great knot strength and for $12 for a 1/4lb spool it's a good value. I use mostly conventional reels so I don't mind a little stiffer line, for my spinning gear I am really impressed with the low memory and limpness of Suffix lines the way they wind the line on their spools makes for a much better transfer to your reel. Next Poll do you spool your own line.
