So I have a Scotty Fly rod holder with a universal adapter plate for my tarpon rails.  I picked up a Scotty Bait cast/ Spinning reel holder at Bass but they were out of plates... no biggie I have the one for the fly rod holder. Get home get out the tools to swap the base  thankfully I slapped myself upside the head before I did anything...doofus just swap  the top piece... go put the tools back.

Not so clever was what I did with my spinning reel.... Bail wasn't releasing right.  Figured just open it up and lube it right.  Took the bail off opened the side lubed reassembled.  Damn thing still was not flipping closed every time.  Wait why is the whole top assembly wobbling?  Pop the spool off and the hex nut holding the assembly to the center shaft is loose snug it down and everything works like new.  Damn it just wasted another hour :smt013 . now where did I put the locktite so this doesn't happen again.   Or maybe I shouldn't mess with my gear after working a 4am to 2pm shift on the med rig... :smt044 :smt044

Do you crank the handle to flip the bail?

Oh, no! Never, ever, this has only happened to you. Everyone else has an easy go of all of it, no troubles.

There is, but it's next to impossible to make happen.

No. For me, that would require at least 3 days of thought...

That's pretty darn funny. I put a tool down somewhere at the shop. The next day I swear someone borrowed it. So I cuss out everyone on the planet until it's sitting right there in front of me.  :smt044 :smt044
