Was texting with the DOTY guys yesterday and we started talking about how cool it would be to get a whole Lechon for the Awards ceremony on 2/7 at TC.

Next thing I know, Damanij (Matt Lopez) from Red Triangle Spearfishing volunteered to pay up to $250 for the pig!!

He can't make the awards ceremony (his kids birthday is that day) but really wants to show his support for DOTY so is sending a speargun as a prize and wants to stoke out the party with the pig!!

 :smt007 :smt007 :smt007

THANK YOU Red Triangle Spearfishing!!!!

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=62374.0

But we have never bought a whole roast pig before...and I know some of you guys have because I have seen them show up at hookups.

Anybody with experience on where to get one etc please chime in, and even better if someone wants to volunteer to get it and bring it up!!

I am assuming it would need to be picked up on day of (2/7) as early as possible to it could arrive at TC by Noonish?

Thanks in advance!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Split roasted is not the same as spit roasted.  It's hard to beat the traditional Filipino lechon roasting method!

Although I've had roasted pig ala La Caja China and it was pretty good.  That being said, we need an NCKA spit roaster.  Any of you fabicator types want to build one?

Sorry James...it will be on the DOTY prize table. It is meant to arrive at my house tonight so will post pics once I get my paws on it.  :smt003

The only raffle prize will be the Hobie Revo13 via the "participation raffle".

But you should talk to Matt...he has some great gear that he has been getting in....

As cool as cooking the pig at the beach would be I don't think logistically it would be the best idea.

I think buying it cooked and bringing it up ready to eat is the way to go.
