Thanks again guys......did an inventory today, big thanks to Kris Cortez (LiveAlohaKris) who helped me out today.  Website coming along....if you need anything prior let me know or if you want to stop by send a pm.  This is roughly the face of what I have with inventory stored as well as wetsuits behind.  Banner and logo still being worked on.  I won't be able to make DOTY because it is my little girl's Bday but hopefully I can bring some gear to an event sometime for you all to look over.

Hopefully I'll be talking to some of you soon and dive safe,

Matt

Thanks guys......since it is going to be a labor of love we have decided to keep it garage and online based. My house will be open to anyone though and we will have it all setup for anyone who wants to come and peruse the items. I will also have a rigging station where I can "hopefully" work on any of your old guns, setup new guns, change bands, etc etc...

If ya need anything at all let me know...

Matt

Hey Ken,

Send me a pm with height and weight of your wife.  I have access to some small suits 110-120 weight range as well the sporasub women's suit which is a bit pricey.  Let me know.

I need a dive suit, soon!

Come see me or let me know what you need.

Congrats on the biz Matt.  I'm just around the corner in Pleasant Hill, would love to swing by and talk shop sometime!

Anytime!  I'll be in Hawaii till the 6th taking the Fii level 2 class but anytime after that when I return!

Totally understand....I have a few toys that may keep people away. Two nice dogs....Remington and Glock  :smt003

Thanks again guys! Both NCKA and NCUH have given me a lot but guys like BigJim went out of there way to really make me feel welcome.  Hopefully I can help everyone out and if not point you in the right direction.

Look forward to meeting all of you soon,

Matt

Alright so I have returned from Hawaii with some awesome knowledge gained that I can hopefully pass on and share up here.  I did the Level 2 Fii course with Daniel Koval over the course of 3 days.  Those of you that know me personally know I deal with some pretty sucky back issues, as most of us middle aged folks do  :smt010, so I did everything I could to make sure I could make it for 3 days. My previous bests prior to taking the class were a 3:30 static, 87ft constant weight dive (normal diving) and 1:33 for longest working dive.

Day 1 was classroom followed by short pool session where we worked on negative pressure dives and statics.  I was able to pull off a PB 5:00 minute static on my 3rd attempt!

Day 2 was classroom followed by 1st open water session.  Here I really focused on warming up properly, being smooth and using proper form. Dan was great and really kept focusing on kick count to 10M followed by slimming out kick to 20M then into sink phase. During this day I was able to beat longest and deepest PB! I did a warm up dive to 55' for 1:43 and then had a drop to 88' and followed that up with a drop to 96'! I was so juiced wasn't even funny.

Day 3 was classroom followed by more open water.  I was tired by day 3 and my back and legs were giving me some pain problems.  Luckily they opened up a bit in the water and I was able to dive.  Dan kept pushing technique and I was able to pull off more PB this day with a dive at 66' for 1:47 and then a drop to 120'!  I had jumped on the recommended depth so I didn't get to attempt to go for 40M/132'.  I was okay with it because I was able to equalize and pull air up using reverse packing no problem.  I actually only stopped because I saw Dan pointing at me and had thought I went past point....I did and I was still kicking in sink phase.  I was supposed to stop at 35M but because form was good he let me go...should have just kept dropping!!  :smt013

Dan invited us back out for some spearfishing and I was able to hit 104' and lay on the bottom for a bit, total dive was only 1:29 but I was still a little jacked up from long walk/swim.  During the dive we saw some humpback whales, 50lbs class ahi tuna and mahi mahi....all from shore dive.  I took a shot at the mahi but missed.  I took a surface shot instead of dropping down  :smt010 and yes I have it on video.

Overall killer class, I have some video of me dropping over 100 ft, 1st person and 3rd person and you can also see (shameless plug) how good fins react properly.

I have finally almost finished itemizing everything, setting prices etc so we are waiting on just a few small things before I "officially" open everything and put it out everywhere.

If you need something let me know.  I know some people sent some PM's. If I haven't replied I apologize, let me know if you need something or shoot me a call or a text (925) 787-7230 and we can go over it more in depth.  I have some new fins coming in and BigJim is going to be an official guinea pig with a new brand of suits I may bring in.  If it is BigJim approved then you know it is solid!

Thanks for all the positive messages about the DOTY Pig.  DOTY, NCUH, and NCKA gave me all of my diving buddies and friends so it is only right I try and support the thing that gave me so much.

Talk to you all soon,

Matt
