Hey everyone! My name is Steve. Grew up R/R fishing on the Monterey Bay and have haven't stopped for the past 28 years.  The last 4 years or so, I've continued my fishing obsession to the underwater world and have added a new type addiction substance to my fishing arsenal. I started building my own spearguns, made some amazing connections in the industry, and moved past the nob stage into the perfection/ knowledge stage.
A few months ago I bought a new Malibu X Factor after I realized my Necky Dolphin wasn't keeping up with my needs.  The X factor is amazing and loving the stability and speed it provides.  I haven't really done any customizing yet, but looking to add a fish finder this weekend and maybe a live well this spring.
My dad and uncle have a sport fishing boat in the Santa Cruz harbor so most of my above water fishing is done on the northern side of the bay.  We chase everything from albacore to crabs.  So between the boat and spearfishing, I'm in or on the water just about every weekend at the least.
I've met many of the members on this forum before while spearfishing, and hope to contribute where I can and help others with their own fishing obsessions.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I'm at west marine almost every weekend and know most of the people who work there.  Amy is one of the managers and came outside to say hi when she saw me looking at the Malibu.  I guess it went out on the rack that day and a few other people were thinking about picking it up.  she made me a deal I couldn't refuse, so I threw it in the back of the truck!
that ling is my personal best so far. actually got it to the gaff while it was riding up to the boat with the legal ling that hit my bait in his mouth.  that was a really quick limit on lings for me that day! ill see if I have a better whole body pic.
installed the new FF today but ill keep that for the other section.
