Went to the lake with Kickinbass, Jelly, and Josh.  We heard fish were up below Busche so we went north.  Once past Long Point we baited upand trolled on the way.  soon after dropping bait I got picked up by a mule...a few surges later, it is gone.  Main line of 12# snapped... :smt010 :smt010

Half way there Jelly loaded up.  He broke his long striper skunk yesterday, ad today he was on a roll.  Jelly draws fist blood...

A few minutes later Jelly got ripped again.  After s short tussle jelly released his second of the day, a big schoolie.  A short while later Kickinbass went bendo.  This fish was FRISKY and had his X-Factor on a brisk sliegh ride.  This was a perfect fish to de-virginize his fancy new rod.   Andy's first of the day...

While I was filming Kickinbass, Jelly and Josh ran down a boil in the corner.  Jell ropes his third on topwater...he is now killing us!!! We all moved into the corner and pounded the TAR out of it.  Josh had several short bites, which is WEIRD.

Later Kickinbass went off again.  His second was a few onces shy of 10#s...

Jelly buried the day with a jumping LMB.  Nice day on the water!

Great report Sean. Nice fish. Congrats to Jelly for a nice first fish to break the streak (Joel: the challenge is on :smt010).
Way to go Kickinbass--nice brace of fish.

Man, what a nice fishery to have in one's backyard. I just gotta make that drive up there this month sometime WAF points permitting. My backyard fishery is Steven's Creek Reservoir. Oh the pain, the pain. :smt013.

what a great way to break in the new GLOOMIS rod.  I felt every little minnow wiggle, and when I got hooked up, the rod was sweet.....IT was a tough day on the lake.  If you look at the 1st photo that Sean took of me, you will notice the lake was in fact GLASS....  PERFECT WEATHER CONDITIONS..

Got to the lake around 2pm,  launched from the North ramp and paddled to the spot which we saw the "boils" a couple weeks ago.  The new fish finder is working great!  Saw lots of bait fish and a few big ones chasing after them on the FF but no boil at all.  Continue trolling the cove and along the East shore and looking for boils but nada  :smt009
The sunset was spectacular and the full moon was beautiful!  Wish I don't have to work tomorrow so I can spent more time fishing at night here.  No fish caught for this afternoon (Sean and his friends "scared" all the fish in the morning)  :smt003 but the scenery was well worth it!  I'll post some pictures later.

Nice night shots. That is another knock on the Forebay and San Luis--just when the boils are peaking one has to run for the shore to make the curfew or face a big fine  :smt011.

FisHunter,

It does get windy.  It changes all the time.  Comes rushing down the valley canyons up there.  Remembering paddling as hard as we could to get behind the island and I think I could have jump off the Yak and swam with it in tow.  Faster than I could paddle.

It funny up there.  You could have a million stripers boiling all around the lake and the Largemouth Bass guys don't even care.
