That was cool.  With my luck a shark would eat the GoPro and I would never see it again.

That's awesome!

Btw, I built my own DIY version of the "troll pro" a while back, but haven't got a chance to try it out yet.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

That's way cool Matt!
Seems like something that would be useful for up & coming tackle manufacturers like 831 Tackle or Branson Baits...if you wanted to show how they look in the water and how effective they are.

Can you imagine the footage of the Mola mola we saw?

Okay the coolest thing to me was the parts with the sand dabs. They are like an invading ground infantry! So cool.
same, those flatties were cool to watch. Aggressive little bastards

Thanks for watching everyone.  This video was a lot of fun filming and editing, although it does involve a lot of time watching extremely boring footage. This compilation was pulled from 4 days of filming. With the battery backpack and a 32 gig card, I get about 3 to 4 hours of footage for each day. Most of it was pretty much empty. The exception to this rule is those crazy Dabs! I had no idea how many of them were there; in 60 FOW no less! I was also very surprised by how aggressive they are.

That was bad ass!

Too bad you didn't have that on The Islander!
I actually had them at that time but I didn’t want to be distracted on this trip. I really wanted a YT.  Speaking of which, I sure hope the Islander trip happens again this year (2015). I want to do that again SO BAD!

+1  An albacore or salmon would be cool too.[/quote]
Im working on a way to add additional weight to use the fin as a downrigger and (hopefully) film a Salmon strike.

Pretty gutsy trolling a GoPro near the rocks.
No snag worries????
It is quite worrisome trolling the camera around snaggy rocks but this is where the most interesting subjects and environments are. You may recall I lost the GoPro and fins once already.

After this, I upgraded to 100lbs braided line with a 100lbs flouro leader for abrasion resistance. I can cut through kalp with ease. Getting stuck in rocks is a real danger but you can see the fins on the fish finder and make depth adjustments accordingly. I plan on upgrading to a cheap low geared line counter reel soon.

That's awesome!

I tried making one myself but pretty much failed. I then found this commercial product and it works great. I love it.

Dude that guy scared the SHIT out of me.  :smt005 I have not filed up the coast yet but plan on doing so eventually. Never know who’s gonna show up for a photo shoot up there

very cool vid!

what's the actual name of the rig you used?

i plan on doing this from my boat (and hopefully kayak soon), but more of a vertical video since i only have a rod and a makeshift camera rig.
