Hey gang,  I'm in the planning phase of a series of Pacific Outfitters freshwater tournaments for 2015.  In the last 5 years, we've had a couple on Lake Mendocino and Lake Sonoma and I am looking to bring both of those back, plus a few new ones on Clear Lake and possibly Indian Valley Reservoir or Lake Berryessa (i'm still researching those).  Any input you all have would be greatly appreciated.  These would definitely be multi-species, CPR tourneys so we don't thrash the fisheries.  I'm also interested in running some informal freshwater Big Fish Shootouts or possibly some One Lure contests.  Hit me up with your ideas, questions, comments, insults...whatever.  Tight lines!

If you do schedule these events, please be sure to check and post on the calender.
Nothing worse than putting all the time and effort to organize a quality event only to find someone already had an event that day, or even worse, after months of prep, someone posts an event the day before yours. Had both happen more than once.

plus a few new ones on Clear Lake and possibly Indian Valley Reservoir or Lake Berryessa

I believe there is already a Clear Lake Fresh KATs event scheduled again for 2015. We had it in June last year, this year it will be most likely be at the end of April or the beginning of May depending on what Ricci (fishworks) decides for Berry.

One F:

PacOut has 3 stores, two around Humboldt Bay and one in Ukiah, right?  All these suggestions here as to other waters are not within the area where pacout competes for business in any meaningful way.

I'm trying to figure how to have a freshwater competition closer to Humboldt, but the lagoons and lake earl are too spread out and probably can't take that much fishing pressure, other than freshwater lagoon, which doesn't really seem ideal as it's very small and entirely within view of hwy 101. Ruth Lake is too remote. Trinity Lake might work, but I think the answer is probably stick to the Ukiah area and run a spring series of three tournaments. There is nothing wrong with concentrating all of the tournaments on Clear Lake, which has the best infrastructure and best variety of fishing anywhere in your area and second place is not even close.

More than two or three tourneys is probably too ambitious anyway.

Get your permits and no live bait. Sonoma was a lot of fun last time.

Only 8 post and already planning tournys!? Like my buddy wingshooter said, Berry is Spoken for as far as Spring goes. IMHO, Trinity and WHISKEY TOWN will do fine and both I would try to Attend.  Goodluck with the series.

Get your permits and no live bait.

Indian Valley is improved to 13% full which is 3 times what it was last year. It has to keep raining!
