Chris - I had estimated my thresher at 9', but yours looks more stout.  Still has beautiful coloring too - great shot of a great fish, man.  I really hope to hook into another one.   :smt001
Thanks Eric, Danglin.  It was a stout, thick fish for sure--what probably added to his weight was the fact he had a pair of HUGE milt sacs in him.  Maybe the dude was looking for some lady threshers?  I dunno.  It looked thicker than the other threshers I saw caught from the Cove last summer.

Feeling the power of that fish put it a world away from any other fish I've ever hooked.  It was an experience unlike any other.  And it all started IN THE SHELTER COVE HARBOR!  Only one example of what kind of fish the Cove can attract.  You're damn right I'll be bringing some shark-worthy stuff with me to GS-9.  I recommend others do the same...if they're up for it  :smt003.

No doubt,  I loved to hook one of the size you did…

I caught a smaller one in the SF BAY!!!  at a most opportune time too, with minutes left in our first and only shark fishing tournament that landed me a trip to Cabo to fish with Spike,,,

pretty awesome,  this fish actually broke my level wind on it's first run and would have been a hand-line situation at best.. as my newbie luck continued in the fight.. as this pup was going ariel full time… it actually circled around and slammed into the side of my yak temporally stunning it!!!

I scooped it up into the net and then it woke up… I still have the scars inside my mouth from it's tail whacking my face!!!   :smt062

The best part was when ChuckE came up in the tourney boat to measure as this tourney was mostly catch and release, I still did not have control of the fish with seconds counting down to the end of the tourney…

It was at that point that ChuckE says, " I don't know Danglin, I think were going to need a 3 count of control…"   :smt104

  Good Stuff!!!    :smt044

Super stoked for sure, now the question is to get a hotel room or tow the new Rpod trailer over ?
Like the new format Eric, will do my best to weed out a couple of those rockfish eating lings  :smt003
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

That's cool Rob, but you're going to have a stiff neck ducking inside the whole time  :smt003, they are nice trailers but anyone over 6' feet could have a problem.

I don't have to duck in her Rpod.  It's a 2014 RP179 and Adrienne is 5'11 and Im 6'5".  There is plenty of headroom from our experience.

Check is in the mail lol. At least I put it in the mailbox today. Would love to hookup with someone with a campsite. Is there any thread for sharing campsites. Willing to pay my share. The floor of a travel trailer would be fine.
