The rules stated are basic and we just need to police our own. Some of the past issues I believe have been locals that joined the party. They seem to be questionable at times but it's camping at the cove!

Jack told me back in january that he enjoys our group and it gotten better.  We just need to watch for the problems and be proactive.

   Just over a month!

Last Friday night as I was winding down about to go lay down in the camper, a local in a big truck drove on to the airstrip and floored it going North.  While I was cleaning my fish I could hear a bunch of drama at the beach ànd a truck came racing up the hill.

The locals can definitely cause problems if they get mixed in our group.

I would recommend any campers go and introduce themselves to Jack and thank him for accomodating us. And buy a burger from him too (killer burgers!!)

I also have a buddy that's coming but wont be fishing (motion sickness of the worst kind) with a truck that we might be able to bribe with a 6 pack to shuttle yakers back up the hill. It would be great if we could organize something so no one has to (or should) park down below. It would give us lots of room as a stagging area. Really...parking (and the traffic jam) is a hassle down there...getting out by a lift up the hill is way faster without any of the traffic hassle. If we had 2 or 3 trucks running it would go super smoothly. I'll volunteer after I'm done fishing, but if we had a few non-tourny folks to help that would be great.

Just a thought-

I was there in August and a local was speeding on the beach South of the ramp. He kept doing donuts in the sand until his truck just stalled.

Then he got it started again and sped North and up the ramp doing around 45MPH.

That's how they drive on the dirt road out to Mattole too, spraying gravel all over the place. Meth is a hell of a drug.

Finally. Sit reserved, and check is in the mail. There's just something not right about getting the taxes done BEFORE getting registered for the cove. Ass backerds I tell ya.

I'm interested to hear what he has to say about group area vs individual sites. I tried to make a reservation a couple weeks back and he said I couldn't because it would be one large group area. Please let us know if that changes.

That's strange.  I made a reservation for site #7 back on December 30th.  I called yesterday to confirm and he verified my name, address, dates and site #.

Perhaps all he has left is the group area?

If you are calling to reserve a RV site then they will accommodate you, if you are camping in a tent is first come first serve. no reservations taken for any camping sites.
if you are by yourself is 25.00 per night or rent any site that is available if you want to be with your group. there is restrictions as how many people on 1 site.

Same guy in the old beat up dodge pick-up?
Last year and the year before he did the same thing. I remember him yelling something highly intelligent regarding those dam kayakers.
We couldn't really understand him due to the tabacki in the lip and his modified "No-No" exhaust system.  :smt102

I guess I better leave MY beat-up old Dodge pick-up at home and take my Ford.  Would hate to be mistaken for a mouth breather.

Ok Eric, I have mailed my release form and registration along with the moola.  :smt003

I honestly don't know whether I can make it. Since I will be returning to work from disability on may 4th. I need to figure out what family matter I must attend to and notify my work for that time off.  :smt002

I really hope that I can attend. If not. I will try to coordinate having someone from the area pick up my goodies and I will retrieve them from here.

Pat or Sonny live near by.  :smt002 :smt002

Does the person have to be present for raffle winning of kayak ?

If I am able to attend. Would there still be camping available ? Wont know till the 4th.

If it doesn't work out. I will definitely be there in Spirit , and with some awesome goodies as reminders of a Great event you put on. Thanks for all the hard work you do !!!!

Hope ta see ya All there....  :smt006

Thanks for the Sponsor Cajun ! Hope ta see ya there Devil Dog !   :smt003

I hope you can make it, Alex.  No prob sending your schwag with PK or Sonny if you can't attend.  You do need to be present to win the raffle.  I think there'll be plenty of space to camp.
