big open ones like the one in my pic can run almost anything but they are loud and burn 3/4 gallon of gas per hour but they are relatively cheap but heavy and hard to move around.  Smaller enclosed units like my honda are quiet and sip fuel (gallon/8 hours) and weigh almost nothing but I paid more for the Honda 2000 watt than the Onan 6500 watt

The small Hondas are quiet. Vic let me borrow his for my fifth wheel but I would have to connect 2 of them to each other to power the whole house. I saw one at Costco for 1/2 the cost of a Honda but the noise level was a lot higher.  I may go with the 2 Hondas but it will be like 2k.  That's why I keep putting it of for fishing gear.

As they say, better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. Kudos to you for being prepared. I have no doubt we'll end up seeing someone on the news who was unprepared do something dumb that endangers themselves, their family, or others during the storm.

Hey Chadrock. Dont forget to drift for some steelies on the way to the store.. BTW have you heard any reports about Austin Creek. I have a place near Elim Grove in Cazadero. Want to check on it this weekend if roads are not flooded. Thx in advance
