I've had a few folks ask about the scent chambers on the tourney slugs and scampi's. Are they designed for gel or oil? Well, both... the scent chambers are originally designed to work with oil scents. But this simple mod will set the baits up for gel scents and it's very effective!

Insert scissors or a knife blade into the scent chamber with the blade side facing upward. Make sure that the point of the cutting utensil touches the end or the deepest part of the scent chamber. Make a clean single cut upward. Make the slit the length as the chamber is deep. The extra firm plastic will keep the modified chamber closed but while fishing it will open slightly and allow the gel scent to disperse evenly. GitBit!

I received a couple questions and/or concerns regarding the 1.75oz BransonBaits.com lead heads. Some guys are concerned that there is not enough hook exposed out of the bait with these heads. These 1.75oz do have a smaller hook but that's Ok, they are designed for rock fish like blues and cabezon who do have smaller mouths. But honestly, I don't have a problem hooking fish, even 30"+ lings.  :smt003

Here are some of the benefits of filing down the shank tops on the lead heads:

It will expose the hook a bit more, resulting in better hookups..
It also puts a lot more plastic between the hook shank and the top of the bait, making your baits last longer.
Also if you're using thin plastic baits, it tends to decrease the chance of the bait splitting (suks).

I actually do this mod with all of my lead heads. I'm hoping my next generation of heads will have this option built into the mold.
Check it out...

Hey Pat, baits are going out today. I included a few MiniSlug samples, let me know how they work out for quality rockies.

I've had a couple PM requests for bait orders for Albion. No problem. I will be accepting pre-orders until August 1st.
I will not have or be selling open baits at Albion. I will bring your pre-ordered packed baits with me. Should be arriving Thurs night and I'll be at site C25.

Pre-ordered means I pay the tax and no ship/handling costs, just bring cash.  :smt002 Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

Ricci,

The 5.5" swimbaits and minislugs are not yet available. I am adding minislugs samples to most orders. Please choose from the baits available on the web site. Thanks!
OK- 2 Halloween Sea Slugs, gotcha.

When will these be available for purchase?  Was also looking to pick up a few.
