Looking good Mike!  :smt003

Thanks! Just poured a bunch of orders. They are really starting to come in now, I just need to update the website now.
I think everyone is going to like the new colors.... this is the Halloween, much deeper orange. I also added a much bigger rattle to the tourney slugs, it's super loud. Dirty water bring it on!

Hey Mike, these baits look perfect!  I checked out your website and saw that a 5.5" Thumper Tail is going to be available soon.  Is this something you'd recommend for lings and rockfish, or is the 8" a better option?  It seems that there's no such thing as too large of a bait for a ling to fit in it's mouth.

Since I don't have facebook ... I'll throw my color thoughts out there...  Red with a little orange/yellow, all black w/ or w/o flake, glow, glow/black swirl ... and a "barney"

Thanks Ruben and Craig. I'm going through all the old colors now and using all the old colors as samples in orders. I'm giving out a lot of samples!

I have two 5.5" swim baits, one with a small tail and one with a larger tail (Thumper). I also have a 5.5" slug which I really like. All three were designed for smaller species like blues (my favorite eating rockfish) blacks, china, etc., or when the bite is off and they don't want an 8" bait. I hope to have them available soon but I still need to do some more testing on and off the water. Hand pouring multi-colored baits this small is extremely difficult, so I need to figure that out. I'll post-up when they'll be ready. Thanks for the interest!

I thought I submitted a color suggestion but can't find it...d'oh! Hopefully it's not too late. And if it is, you can still use my suggested color. I call it "Greyscale" and it would have a white belly with grey on top (and a red stripe in the middle, running lengthwise). It's basically an inverted color variation (greyscale). My thinking is that this will be a large-bodied deep water lure. At depth, many of the traditional colors are washed out because the UV spectrum can't penetrate that deep. However, a distinct color variation/transition would still be visible. And most bottom-dwelling fish are oriented to see upwards; they see what's above them and ambush their prey. So the white belly would hopefully draw the attention of hungry lingcod because it would provide a stark contrast with the seemingly black surface.  Plus, it has the word scale in it...like a fish, get it?  :smt005

Why you gotta make this all technical? :smt005

The winner is Amos Foreman - aka SuperVato. His FaceBook creative descriptions and science backing quickly grabbed my attention from the start. The contrast between the two colors looks really good in person and I'm proud to have it in the line-up very soon. A few more tweeks and we are there. Thanks Rob Knoles for the name, Rancid, very fitting.

Ruben and Jesse you also had some great ideas and examples. Ruben, I've been working on a Chovy for about a few weeks and with the addition of the yellow you suggested, I think I may have it. If it works out I'll bring you some for Simply.

Thank You to everyone who participated. I appreciate all your great suggestions and ideas. It still amazes me to see Branson Baits doing so well for so many anglers. I really enjoy designing and making these baits. I get a lot of satisfaction and pride knowing these things can help to put food on your tables, smiles in your BP photos and possibly put you on the podium. Thanks again for believing in my dream!
