Got to the lake at 8am.  It opens at 6am. still.  Dec. 1st it changes to 7am.  Frankfishing was already there. Zeelander was already on the water.  We met up with him later.

Another slow day.  I got one 15" trout on a Firetiger rapala, trolling at 20ft down near the Dam.

Saw Zeelander leave at 3pm.  Tried to get him on the radio.  But, guess he had it turned off.

I left at 4:45pm and Frank was still coming in.

Caught sight of a pair of bobcats, caught sight of the resident bald eagle, caught sight of others catching fish. But no fish caught by this angler.
Had one monster hit by the dam when beached eating lunch. Hooked it and got a fight for a few seconds when it dove and snagged. Bummer. One of those hits that would have left me one less rod if I hadn't put the rod in the rod holder while sitting on my PFD eating a sandwich while on the beach. It hit like a large stripper on chicken liver. Slider egg weight with #4 hook at the end of a three or four foot leader.
Still haven't landed a fish with my new revolution....soon....very soon.
Ken thatnks for the cigars I owe you partner, also for the lures and first fish (nice fish). Zee hope to hook up again soon.
Time to take a shower to get this skunk smell off.

Cigars? Now yer talkin'. I thought I was the only one. I started doing it fly fishing in rivers because it kept the Skeeters away. Then I learned I liked and do it regardless of the need for insect control.

Great to see Ken and Frank out on the water. Ken you got a nice one again in tough condtions. Congrats! :smt001 I was thinking that since it was a serious stocker lake there was going to be plenty of easy catchin' but it was tough. Lots of people on the lake but not much catchin to be had for everyone. I saw a lot of people workin their normal spots and leave despondant after fishing it for a while.

Thanks for the tips and bait Frank. Unfortunately nothing ended up working. I didn't want to leave but had things to do so went back to the docks. When I was just about ready to roll the stocker truck rolled up. Dumped about 200 stocker Trout so thought I'd make an easy catch. Made a few casts and had to go. A little girl right on the other side of the dock from me nailed about a four pounder.. freakin beauty.  shut my radio off and pouted in the car on the way home :smt010 :smt003 Sorry about that ken :smt003 .

Let's do this again guys, we're sure to nail em. And Frank, lookin forward to givin the Hobie Revo a whirl.. niiiice yak!

BTW, did snap a pic of a flock of wild turkeys.

My son, Omar (4 yrs.) , and I were out there on Saturday 10/28 for his first trip on the boat...he was a bit upset with me for not putting him on some fish.

He's hoping to catch a "Swordfish" from the kayak, I don't know how much success I'll have at helping that happen though. I don't know how often they stock the lake with swordfish. :)

It was a nice paddle although the lake was really low.

Better luck next time.

Hey Brice,
Ray mac posted that the Quarry (Fremont) just recieved a bunch of trout yesterday. It will take two to three days before they really start to bite but might be worth the drive. If you do let me know and I'll try to join up with you. Ken,Ray and I did this last tuesday which was the baptismal of my revolution. Spent most of my time fiddeling with my disfunctional ff which worked well at Del Valle.
