Use It Or Lose It?

On my new RA there is a plastic sheath over the line clip.
Is this only for shipping purposes or should I leave it on?
Use it or lose it?

I think it might be so that it doesn't kink at that point or scratches the gun. I left mine on initially then lost it after disassembling to and from Mexico a few times.

It didnt bother the range or accuracy of the gun.

I think that's just packaging for shipping.

Just take it off.

Keep it on. It will keep your swivel from chattering against the barrel while you move the gun underwater.

Take it off Tote! You don't want to mess with that when you need to unclip  in an emergency.
