So basically, you've taken all the latest cool innovations on the scene, kayak fishermans' kayak design wishlists, and combined them into a super stable, razor tracking, fast paddling,  rough surf survivng, not-too heavy, hands free optional, ultimate fishing kayak?

I'm sorry, but theres no way... for me to skip this.  :smt003

Ditto. When might we expect more info on this? It would be a great Christmas present to myself...

That brought a BIG smile to my face !  :smt003     Thanks.
Yeah, the pre order thing was a last minute thought, with out all the details worked out.   I've honestly been so busy with the hands on design / build of the molds that I've had very little time for anything else.   My plan was to get a proto-type kayak on the water to film and run a Kickstarter campaign.  Don't need a lot to get this going the total for the molds is 30K, of which I have half, plus credit to borrow.  Would be great to not borrow, so pre-sale offer seems like a great win-win for everybody.    I'll try to work out more details soon.    Would not likely need a payment from anyone until we get closer to a production date.

Yup ! Driving over the Grapevine is like NASCAR,  except got the 85+ mph  drivers dodging a mix of idiots going 55, changing lanes for no reason....           A 16 hour round trip delivery to the foundry.    Everything is set to go.   After seeing all the patterns for the castings, they're pretty sure it will be completed in under 8 weeks.   In reality  ( I've found ) something usually will  cause a delay.
Once the kayak mold is completed, I'll deliver it personally to  Amish Amos ( LOL   he's really a very funny character )  in PA.   That way I can oversee the first run, rigging etc and bring a  trailer load home..     Whew,,,,  That's 9 months from conception to delivery !  :smt044

Jim,

playing the devils advocate, the afore mentioned peddle drive companies aren't going to give you a hard time will they?  I can see one company in particular, not selling drives unless you turn in an old one, or buy a whole kayak that comes with a drive or some such none sense.

Awesome work Jim, can't wait to check out that baby when its all done!

I don't think this will be a big issue.  What if someone loses the drive somehow, this company will force them to buy a new kayak just for the drive?  Not likely.

There are lots of guys that wouldn't mind using their own existing drive inside a new kayak ;)

Any news? I sold my Raptor a week ago and am now without a  fishing kayak but patiently waiting. I'm also wondering how the rudder will be attached. The way I used to load my Raptor, I had it standing/leaning on my suv before I pick up the two stern handles and easily lift it on my suv. I'm hoping the rudder system won't be interfering with this or at least be easily removed with a cotter pin or two. Jim?

I don't know if I missed it but the pedal drive is it similar to the hobies or is it like the native
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Yes, exactly similar. To both  :smt003. Page 5 has the details. It's gonna be a removable adapter system which will have a mount for the specific drive you have: Hobie or Native. Or... no drive use at all, just an awesome storage pod that's removable, which sounds similar to Viking kayaks' pod.
