Thanks Herb, you're exactly right! It is what it is.

IMPORTANT: Ok, so it looks like we might have some large swells and maybe some rain later on Saturday after 4pm. Regarding the large swells and tide, please use your head and make good decisions. As for pot luck/ awards, we might make some changes to the tourney check-in time slot. If it still looks like we'll get rain during awards/ potluck, I'm going to cut and end the tourney at noon. Awards and potluck will start at 2pm. I think 2 hours is enough time to take a shower, grab a snack and prep your pot luck dish. We have a ton of stuff to give away so please arrive on time.

Fishing in the rain is ok, but awards and potluck in the rain, ahh NO FUN. I'll have the final announcement on the time change when you check-in Sat morning.

If you guys can, please bring some extra pop ups, tarps, rope and zip ties. I'll also bring what I have. If we do get rain maybe we can link the pop ups together and create some shelter for all the tables. Thanks!

Attached is the latest NOAA WX forecast.

You guys need to stop worrying about the weather too much and just look forward for the good times awaiting us. It is what it is if the weather cooperates or not. Lets just all have a good time, fishing or not.
+1000 Great spirit Herb, my bad for posting but, I am still going and looking forward hanging out with you guys, bringing a newbie friend she is a free diver and wants to see whats the buzz all about, please be gentle with her.  :smt002

Michael do whatever it is you need to do, even if that means not letting anyone go out on the water to fish and instead having a raffle for the top prizes for those who attend the potluck.

Tournament canceled!   :smt009
Too much surf. I guess it will just be one long party.  :smt007

Some of the guys and gals went ahead and launched; surf is working pretty good. We will see what we might have missed fishing wise. It was a good chance to get out and work on skills with friends. Lots of hanging with the crew going on in Chicken Cove while folks decide whether, or not, to launch. A half dozen or so guys shot their archery gear on the beach. Last nights bon fire was a nice time. Casual and "mild" I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Lots of the usual NCKA brotherhood and helpfulness. As for me I stayed ashore to recover from a lingering cold.

Lingering "bottle flu"?

Bummer about canceling, but if it is bad I'm sure it was the right call.
