As far as the dolphins, they were probably harbor porpoises... very common. 

I usually see some when fishing the Sonoma / Mendo coast.

Yea, I just looked at a pic and it definatley could have been a harbor porpoise.

Heck ... we had dolphin/porpoises up in Ketchikan this summer!!!

I have seen lots of dolphins, pilot whales, and lots of whales. There are also the occasional orca, but I have never seen one.

Excellent report!  That looks like a great spot.   :smt001

I see lots and lots of dolphins up here.  I try to photo them, but it's hard to be ready.  On the calmest days you can hear them coming as they blow.

That is a damn nice report and a cherry of spot.  Anchor Bay definitely is on my to-do list now.  Looks fishy as hell.  Thx for sharing.
