Sup all. I currently have a gopro hero 2 (that was given to me a while back) and way bulkier than 4 or even 3. Only time I use is on the water. Mostly used on head strap while diving. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 3 or even 4 but not sure which to get. 4 seems to have awesome features and resolution but don't want to spend more on stuff I'm not going to take advantage of. 4 lighter so less weight on head all day is a plus.I'm thinking hero 3 silver though should be plenty but looking for others opinions.
Also which has worse/bether battery life?

Personally I would get one of the new Hero 4 models.  GoPro has done a major upgrade to filming in low light with the Hero 4.

Keep using the 2 until it totally dies. Then you can upgrade to the 5 or 6.

Thanks for replies. Picked up a Sony action cam for $200. Was told it is comparable to hero3+ silver but we shall see. Have 90 days to test run.
anyone use sony cam instead of gopro?

Nope, but I'm anxious to hear how you like the Sony.  I checked it out in the store and it's a nice cam.

Heat and Battery Life are the 2 main reason I still prefer the GP2...

Seems the smaller they get, the hotter they get...

I'm just waiting until after Christmas when everyone dumps their brand new GoPro's for cheap.

I was actually in the market for a new camera as well.

If brand name is not an issue, you can give this a shot:

The video quality nearly the same as the GoPro's as well as the specs.

I still like my 2 over my 3+.  The 2 is simple and the quality and battery life are outstanding - oldie but goodie for sure.
