I have a pair of polarized Smith glasses that I LOVE.  After three years of heavy use they finally crapped out...the lenses just went whacky one day and got these little lines going every which way.  I was bummed cause I loved em so much, and they still had nary a scratch.  I spoke to the place where I got them and they said sent them to Smith, they will probably replace the lenses.

I sent them in, and about FOUR days later I got a hole new pair for FREE...SAHWEEEEET!

Smith is like Shimano that way.

My wife did the same thing you did.  Send in crapped out pair, get brand new pair.

I wish more businesses took this tact towards customer service.

I have a pair of Smiths I used for years climbing and skiing before I hung up my crampons. They beat most other mgrs because they use real glass unlike Oakley and Revo which uses cheap-o plastic in many models which scratches easily. I didn't know they'd repalce them like that though. Makes my appreciation for an already first-class manufacturer all that much more. Sometimes it pays to use discretion in purchasing key equipemtn--the top brands often deserve their position in the market.

They are easily the best optics company that we deal with. Smith has a "limited" lifetime warranty. Personally, I haven't seem any limits. Stepped on, sat on, crushed by cars, it doesn't matter, they'll replace them. There interchangeable series are top notch as well.

They actually upgraded my wife for free, as the pair that broke was discontinued.  They gave her a model up from what she had before.

Great company.

What Scwafish said.

No biggie, just send 'em in.

Exactly like Shimano.

Gotta love that customer service.

the sun glasses I have use the "poly carbonate" or plastic.  I'd love to find a pair that use real glass! is there a local dealer?  Website?
