Took Andrew Goti out for his first ocean kayak fishing trip. Met up with Meat Hunter, DpShim in the early hours of the morning and set sail twords Carmel Bay, we got to the parking lot and what do you know? We beat Big Jim there. :smt044. We geared up and talked A little safety before launching out and heading towards many reefs out there. Was A great morning with some solid fishing for all of us. Andrew caught an array of fish including A cabezone and A olive. The weather was perfect! No wind small swells. The day ended good with us ending up at my house teaching him how to properly fillet A fish. Great times were had by all. Andrew and his father also bought brand new Santa Cruz Raptors. Yet to break although.. Kristopher recruited the young man from High School. Good times and Andrew is gonna become one hell of A kayak fisherman! Pics to come.

So now that there's another "noobie" in the crew does that mean I won't get hazed and jumped in anymore?  :smt009

LOL!!!!

Yes...it is true...but only cuz I had to detour to pick up my gun from bloodbath's house.  :smt002

Great seeing you guys at the beach and OTW!!  :smt008

Mikemcg and I paddled out to check three different areas and could have easily blasted limits of blues at each spot, but chose instead to just pop a few... :smt001

Also took one 25 inch Ling each, and I took a 19.5 inch chunky cabbie as well as nice Olive.

Home by noon to take wife and kids out to lunch and spend rest of day chilling with them.  :smt001

Was great diving with Mike and getting to show him around some cracks and structure that I have found this year.  :smt001

Sincerely,

Jim

ps...the BigYak rides again!!  :smt005 :smt004 :smt003

Great pics Andy!!

Sorry I couldn't wait on beach for you guys.

Just hold onto that paddle for now....sorry about it being fused...I left it together like a dummy...AB gave me info on how to try and unstick it (put in walk in freezer or under bag of ice and then pull apart) but just haven't had time to try...

Jim

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”
