Thanks for the props!  This ones going to be hard to let go of in a few months, it's dialed just how I like it...clean, secure, organized...until the bite goes nutz, then it becomes a bloody mess!

I'm really liking the 4 HDI.  I ran a straight Elite 4 last year, having the HDI really paints a clear picture under you.  If you're good at reading the traditional arch/image, the HDI will seem like actually sticking your head in the water, it's cool to run them both side-by-side.  I haven't run it in the salt any deeper than about 60' so can't say much for performance deeper than that.

If you like the HDI, you'll love the CHIRP on your 2016 model Hobie  :smt002

I didn't even know Hobie made 9" H rails.  It looks good.  I don't know why Hobie still puts the built in rod holders in the front of the Outback.  I never thought they were very useful considering the angle they are set at.  I could see possibly putting some of those H rails in the back for more options.

i find them useful when changing lures or baiting (just like on my ultra 4.3)

what do you plan on using them for?

my next mod will definitely be the rectangular hatch!

Got the boat on the water yesterday, was surprised at how much i grabbed onto the rails when accessing the front hatch, easier to load/unload from the truck with more handholds (they are super sturdy and plenty strong for rod holders).  I have a GoPro Jaw mount that I'll be running on these, and also my bluetooth speaker will mount up there.  I might go ahead and put a pair along the rear tankwell too, then run the horizontal rod holder for my fly rods.

do you know if they come in single or pairs for the h-rail?

You can actually use the rail to lift the kayak?

thanks

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.
