Just make sure you got the locking tab in the right direction or you could lose you downrigger like I did.   :smt013

Yes, this is a biggie.  The mount will have a little arrow pointing Inboard, but don't follow this.  I like to point the arrow 'outboard', so the locking tab is at the stern.  This allows the dowrigger to install with the boom straight out, then rotate forward to lock and seat in place.

This location also works well for running the Scotty Rocket Launcher.  :smt001

Or you could use the new Scotty 244L.

I don't think there is enough clearance for the locking tab when installing in the gear tray...but otherwise that would be nice!  :smt001

Looks good Ben.  Now can you make it work in the Revo?  Lol.

Great mods Ben, boat looks really awesome! I especially like the new hatch, something I will definitely be doing.

I also ran rocket launchers and Scotty LT riggers on my old OB. I had my riggers back a bit further and rod holder in front of that on a rail. I don't know if I'll be able to get away with putting the riggers behind the seat on the new OB. It looks like the seat back frame when reclined might not give enough room?

I also originally had my riggers on Scotty flush mounts but found they both cracked over time, so switched them out with Scotty quick release deck mounts and backed both sides: rails and deck mounts with a one piece of 1/16" aluminum (ruler). This made the whole setup really secure.

I put my Ram/Lowrance and GoPro setup(s) on a rail in the front right gear tray and a Scotty flush mount on the front left. This flush mount also cracked over time and I replaced it twice before going with another Ram ball/rail setup. My main objective was to have the deck completely clear and flat for the most part. I wanted to be able to load the boat upside down on bars without worry.

Ben, thanks for the post man, I'm inspired. Hope to see you and that boat at some of the FreshKATs events this year.

Looks great Ben, I want first dibs when you sell it next year  :smt003 . I just realized that my 2010 OB has a cup holder on the right side where you mounted your DR, I can put it farther forward on the left side but then I have to crank it up left handed  :smt012, the up side to that is that I hold my rod in my right hand anyways so putting it down would feel more natural. Time to sit in the yak and make a decision, won't be long before I'll need it.

Got my first pond session in last night, spend more than half my time standing with zero troubles.  The flattened out deck and the rectangle hatch combine for solid footing...loving this setup!

The hatch will fit in your Outback.  In fact the 2013 has buitl in  cut out marks for the hatch.  Been thinking about doing it to my 2013 but think I would have problems opening it with my fatty legs.
