Who wants to go Long Range out of San Diego?  I would like to do a 5,6 or 7 dayer.  I have all the tackle we need.  Probably, rent a truck and drive down a day or two ahead.  Maybe, it will happen in 2008.  Usually, even hard to book 1 year in advance on some of the boats.  Thinking of July or Aug.

I am up for 2008. I usually go every other year. I prefer the Royal Polaris if possible. I have my own gear.

I have never been on the RP.  Been on the Excel ( 5 .  & 6 dayers), Q105 (5 dayer), Polaris Supreme (10 dayer) and Shogun (17 dayer).  Have talked to Roy Rose on the dock at Fisherman's and talked to Roy's Dad as the bock was docking.  Very nice guys.

How manys days and when?  Blue fin (full moon period)?

Hi Frank,

I can go anytime.  2007 or 2008.  Sometimes the Allcoast Borad as some late cancelations.

If you go to Fisherman's Landing , Point Loma Sportfishing, H&M Landings or Lee Palm's Sportfishers.

If it got 2 or 3 spots.  I am ready to book.  Blue fin is good in a Full Moon Cycle.  Albies will be there.  Just don't plan a trip in March or even April.  Too early for the Albies.

I usually go 5-7 days. July - August most boats run 5-6 days and probably are the best months for albacore. I fished Guadalupe and Cedros/Benitos this year on the RP. The yellowtail at Cedros was wide open but the GWS problem at Guadalupe has gotten really bad with 40% of our big tuna lost to them. New moon or full moon work for me. 2008 schedules won't be out for awhile.

See at Cedros and Benitos we wer hammer by the sealions.  This was on the Q105.  We would get the first 10 to 20 fish in,  then they would find us and we woiuld have to move.  Guadalupe is good but usually a slow pick.

If we try a 7 dayer.  Don't know if you been to Alijos.  But, if you afre the first boat there in a while.  You can load up on wahoo.  Frank Lo Preste always plan to be the first boat there.  Where every he fishes.

Just booked a trip on the RP (royal Polaris) for July 15, 2007.  I was going to tried the Independence.  But, hear they were no part of the "Code group".

what is the "Code Group"?  I've been wanting to get onto a long range trip but want to go when the group I go with makes up most of the charter.

"Code Group" is where the ships will work together.  they talk to each other and put them on a "hot bite" or not.  Indy is with the Q105 and not with the other boats....rumor has it.

Ken -

Have a great trip on the RP. Will try to hookup with you in 2008. I think I convinced skipper Roy that kayak fishermen deserved respect, however, you can work on him some more.

Thanks Great Bass 2.  This is a Hi's Tackle open.  Should be some good door prizes.

Signed up for a 6 dayer on the Royal Star Aug 19-25.  Wanted more time on the water than a 5 dayer on the RP.
