I am going home to  San Fernando valley in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving.
As one way to avoid family disgruntal time, I want to sneak out for a little fishing.[emoji20]
Anyone recommend a place to launch in Malibu, Santa Monica area?
What rig should I bring?
Not sure what I may be able to catch.

Harrisons Reef at the Ventura/ Los Angeles county line.  The reef starts close to shore near the line shack restaurant and goes further off shore as it curves south, You should be able to see some wash rocks mid reef off of the beachfront condos.  Lots of Calico Bass, Cabezon Spiny Lobster, Scallops.  Awesome place to fish or dive, Sandy beach launch with no rocks.  Inside of the reef is around 20 feet and outside 40-50'

Thanks Buzzcut1.
Can I use a crab pot for lobsters? Or a bigger opening pot.

Note you may also need an ocean enhancement stamp.

You will definitely need an Ocean Enhancement Validation when fishing south of Point Arguello in Santa Barbara County.
