I had a great time on the forebay with Mooch and Dan. I was trying my best to channel ChuckE's camp cooking mojo and I almost got it but forgot the magic sweet chili sauce. I also forgot Mooch eats at least 3 servings  :smt003

I limited early Saturday and got into some kind of crazy slo-mo boil Saturday morning. One fish would break the water about every 10 seconds. I was throwing topwater but gave up and trolled in the area. Caught one right away and caught it's twin about 45 minutes later. Here are Joel's fish:

Here is Dan hooked up with one of his stripers

Joel hooked up with his 21" on the spinner (note making a screaming girl noise to complete the scene):

Joel with one of his many many bass:

There seems to be a lot more LMB's coming out of the Forebay than years past.  I wonder why.

IMO: no one really targets them - I see more people fishing for the stripers (and I'm seeing more Fly Fishermen there now too)  And, the thick weed beds give the bass so much cover and protection from the stripers and fishermen. There's gotta be a LUNKER in there :smt045

It's all pretty much open camping. Medeiros is just an open area with some picnic benches, slight cover, and bathrooms. If you get a good spot there can be grass too. It's not really watched after at all so a really fun place to camp.

Those pictures of the weeds are making me drool.

That place has GOT to be topwater bass heaven morning/evening.

I must get myself out there pronto.

Titanium T1 Spinner bait - Terminator (see pics on first page) We used the smallest size and did very well with it.

IMO: the nice thing about the Forebay is that if the Stripers can't be found, you can always go LMB fishing = and there are lot's of 'em :smt045

Man, I am freaking now.  What an awesome fishery.

I must go...

(cue zombie walk to the forebay)

I'm probably gonna go Saturday if I can get clearance from the control tower.

Mol - just make sure the wind is not blowing hard - I know Bill has the number to call for the wind conditions. I would call that number early in the morning - before you make the drive :smt002 I already made that mistake once  :smt011

Yeah, I will be sure.  I don't want to drive an hour for crud.

Still, the pictures you posted makes me think that place is just lousy with bass.

The weed level is epic.

I'm gonna bring a buzz bait or two and kill them in the morning.

Good luck! Fair warning = there's so much weed cover in the lake right now - you'll have problems trying to figure out where to start  :smt002
