Looks awesome.
I put a one foot back splash on mine to keep things from rolling off the back side into PITA land.
If I had the room I'd have a 10'x6' table...and it still wouldn't be big enough.  :smt044
Great job for knocking that out and giving us a play by play in a very reasonable amount of time.

Looks good Allan. :smt006 I've been thinking of building a kayak rack myself.

Once you got it figured in your head it's smooth sailing Jed.
The only bump in the road today was the checkout lady at Home Depot charged me twice for the box of screws.  In haste to complain, I bolted out of the truck and locked it with the keys inside.  Had to call Bi  to get spare from home and bring to HD.  Wasted a good hour.

I built an oak table on rollers years ago. My only regret was not having a one-piece table top.

Howard one of the reason I built the workbench is that I'm planning on building a rustic farmhouse dining table.  Already got the ideas from the web and youtube.  I'm gonna take my time on this one though.

It was either the bench or work OT.  Got the heads up yesterday the one of the guys was gonna get sick.  Nasty route.  All hills.  All walking.  Was not gonna take a chance by answering love call from Sup.  Haha :smt044 :smt044

You got carpentry skills pare!  Nice work man!  I'm trying to be handy too.  Actually slowly building a kayak garage for my AI and fishing crap.  I think I'll get it finish before it starts raining again.   :smt044  ...  that could mean never.  I'll post some pictures when I'm done next year.    :smt005   Maybe we should have a bbq at my place so you could help me finish it.   :smt001

I have a sliding miter saw you can borrow, if it will help.

Nice work. Looks really solid!
If you decide you want something harder for the top you can buy an 8' prefab bullnose granite top for as low as $50-$60. Looks like it would fit perfectly

a sliding miter saw would help.  Had to use circular saw for the 6" wood thats why my edges look crappy.  My miter was stationary.
