GoPro

Just when you're finally getting comfortable with your brand-new GoPro, the next generation unit is released. Glad I'm in no hurry to keep up with the latest and greatest gear.

All this GoPro stuff has me wondering; how many of these expensive little boxes get lost each year?  I found one riding my dirt bike on the Rubicon over the summer.  Unfortunately it was damaged beyond repair.  It still fired up, but the viewer was crazed, the lens was cracked and I had to put it in a vice to get the USB port exposed where the case had crushed across it.  The memory chip was fine but no photos on it at all.  I took a photo of myself and that worked, albeit fuzzy because the lens was scratched. 

I would imagine a lot of these things fall off what ever they are mounted to, just wondering how many that might be...

Just in time for the Christmas buying season.  Like Apple, they know JUST when to release a new product for biggest sales punch.
