Does anyone have experience wet dragging spinning reels?

I would love to do this sort of smooth drag work on my okumas.  I have a couple Epixor EF30s that I would like to modify.  I find that I have lots of drag stripped by fish on these reels.

Thanks for any comments.

I am gonna soup up my 6500c3 this weekend.

Yup.... and it's much more simple conventional reels too.  You usually just remove the retaining clip in the spool, replace the old drag washers with Alan's greased Carbontex washers, and put the retaining clip back in, and your done.

Alan,

The drag washers in the Okuma Epixor are 7/8" oiled felt and there are 3 of them.

Here is a link to the schematic.

http://www.okumafishing.com/support/26/schematics/ef30.pdf

the drag washers are part 610 in the schematic.  interestingly the final oiled felt washer just sits right on the spool.  It was really simple to open up....

I just installed the set of washers that Alan sent me.

The reel is very very smooth right now.  I just set it to 2# of drag (I use 6# top shot on 10# spectra).  I need to go out to the forebay now to test this drag on some stripers!
