Awesome…

Ya, 100 degree heat, bite way off due to the lake being flooded to fill it for the event spooked the bass the bite was WAY OFF….  but..

Everything else…  Magical….   we had about 1/4 of the vet show… but the vets that did show, a couple with Family, were treated to true NCKA hospitality…

Thanks to everyone and if I still have energy after this post and pics, I'm going to hit everyone as you were all Outstanding…..

Thank you so Much!!!    Watching kids from 2 to 17 just lose their minds perch jerking off the dock and fr0g catching…  :kermit:

and the Biggest Kid being Weimarin…  Strong work Mister and watching the Bull Frog races was Epic.. along with campfire s and some mores …

Carrie and the Weimarin family taking care of all the details,  Moster Sunfish also caught by the Weimarin Fam too…  WOW!!!

Skipro3 getting there on Thursday and working with Mr. Kelsey cleaning the place up in upper 90 degree heat and helping out everywhere...

VK  Tri tip and BQ extrondinair….

Wormguy, driving all the way out there to deliver water he got donated from Costco, and I mean a lot,,, some of that will be making to the Mooch Memorial...

DG and REV and Breakfast..
AFC Retired on deck for anything
Shicken and GB2 driving all the way out here just do to Food /Dinner and make their way back home… Wow again..   :white
Raydon for being an ever class act and a voice of reason..
Mike, Robs friend for helping out where he could
RacinRacidRob, RRR for doing an incredible time consuming job of handling all of the Nor Cal HOW Logistics in handling the massive duty of transporting our ever growing inventory of kayaks and gear… not for the faint of Heart… I can tell ya,, this takes an extreme amount of time…\

sorry for who I missed but I will edit this as I remember...

If y'all knew what goes into this to give to our wounded and serving that protect your freedom …

y'all would get off off your duff and get out here and give back to those who have given so much… no Damn Excuses    :smt018

This program only works by people giving back period…  if y'all knew how much the Vets and their Family appreciate this and knew how much you would get helping out,  it would not be a second thought…

But I'm tired of asking…  just do it….  we always make it happen, and always will , but your missing an awesome opportunity to give back and give your Soul a Boost...

I believe were going to do this again at Kelsey Bass Ranch in Early December depending on the weather and the Bite…

  Be there….   :smt004

We had so much fun! All I can say is Raid bug fogger!!!!!! Bomb the bugs on the whole peninsula when we arrive!!!! Needed, more Vet's! Just seeing the vet"s that came, relaxing and playing with their kids and us, felt so right! We all got to be 12 year olds at camp again. justroberts got a new name (Dirtybasschucker) Don, HOW is Awesome and we were glad to help! I don't know how much I helped them as I did not serve but... the camp fire sessions got everyone talking and seemed to help all there. So grateful My girls and family get to serve our Vets. Giving back always gives more in return. God is found in Service to one another. Best Churchin' is servin'... God bless our service men/women And HOW! Join us if your feeling low, join us if your feeling high. You will come away filled with joy and carma bag full... See ya next time!!! :smt007  I hope the frogs are still around next time!!!

This was once again a great event.  Henry and I had a great time hanging out with the Vet's and families, I think Henry had a few more girlfriends by the end of Sunday   :smt005

Dirtybasschucker earned his new name alright!!

I had to keep reminding myself that a listening ear and respectful presence does make a difference for these guys.  A chance for them to relax and talk or not outside, and know that its all safe for them and there kids to chill or play. I was glad to help bait hooks, untangle lines and listen to small voices talk about fish.

BTW, BEST PORK CHOPS EVER!

You had enough food left to stay for a week.

I am glad I went and was able to take a little load off of your back.

The Kelsey frog race and the kayak log roll were highlights.  Good people, good food and nice but hot weather made for a great time.

Way to go guys o another great event. Glad y'all had fun and so did the vets. I guess you also experienced that heat again!  That is even hotter than it is down here in Texas. We experienced a very mild summer.

Our HOW chapter is hosting a campout in two weeks and hopefully it goes as well as yours. Don't know headcount yet, but I plan on doing more that just burgers for Saturday's dinner.

We will have a few lakes to fish on, one sixty acres and one smaller. Will be fun catching bass and we get to keep all the crappie we want.

Again thanks to all who participated and helped out. You don't know how much this does to the vets.

Had a great time even though fishing was not as good as last year. Great people, great event, great food, great getaway to help others = great time! Met some nice vets and NCKA members. Thanks to all who helped out, especially Danglin, RacinRob and Weimarian's family. Hope to see you all at a future event. 317 mile trip up from So Cal to spend time with everybody was definitely worth it. Hopefully next time the bite will be on. Here are some of my photos.
