Anyone know if union valley is open after the king fire? I thought it was but just heard it was closed? Was planning on camping up at sunset in a couple weeks but now wondering if plans need to change... Any info would be appreciated. Of not UVR. Any other lakes you all like this time of year for family camping and a little time on the water?

I heard on Bob Simms show that it is closed as of yesterday. My favorite place to go with the family is Jackson Meadows, Browns, Cutts, Rainbows great campground and all sorts of free dry camping nearby also. Or a bit closer you could try lake valley res

Bummer. I will have to
Listen. I wonder why they closed it. I thought the king fire was much farther north now....

They are staging the helicopter water dumps out of the boat launch over the dam and don't want boats on the water.  This fire isn't out, although it is pretty much contained.  There will be fire fighting until winter gets here.  Ice House Lake is open though...
