Aloha NCKA-

Flying out to Hawaii this Monday for work... wanted to go fishing. Anybody have any hookup with people who can point me in the right direction to make the day productive? Last thing I want to do is fish by myself and soak line in water where nothing is going to happen. =)

It's also nice hanging out with a local to share the days catch. Can't do much from a Hotel.

Also, if anybody needs something from the Islands... let me know and I'll do my best to get it and bring it back. I know I'm buying some poke mix to bring back. =)

JTF is on Haiku. He might be your best bet for info from someone on NCKA.

If you read this in time
Take the H3 or Likelike highway to the southeast side. Go right or back south along the coast There is an upscale area, can't remember the name, and the tourists do a lot of kayaking there. You should be able to rent a boat there.  A local tourist book or your hotel can clarify where. Otherwise just look for locals shore fishing.
Two weeks ago Boogie-D said I was probably his last fishing guide for the year as the northshore waves are getting bigger now. but you never know, he might have a last minute guide already set up that you can tag along on.  $260 inshore fishing - $300 offshore

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.

UPDATE: well, no fishing and no kayaking... 12foot swells and the trade winds came back hard at 30+knots.

too much work and not enough play. i didn't even get to swim once. how sad, yeah?! =(

got in touch with BoogieD via email and was invited to a phatty bbq that he was throwing... he had really fresh smoked tuna.. a nice grey snapper that he was going to steam... oysters, shrimp.. tons of food. sadly, i could'nt make that too. major suckage.

i told him that i will be returning in Dec to work in the island again... made sure that i schedule a day to meet, eat and shoot. =)

below are image from the trip.
