Hello Everyone

New member here finally got the guts to register and take part in this awesome community I have been quietly watching for awhile now...

First off I live in the modesto area, born and raised...my dad got me fishing and hunting at about 4 years old and haven't stopped much since...i hunt ducks about 40 days a year and fish about the same 28 now...have had many styles of boats and mostly chase the silly large mouths around the valley...

Why kayaks my wife asks me?

Well I like simplicity...I also like being on or near the water as much as possible...I played football at humboldt state (BA in rec admn) a few years back and ended up falling in love with my 12ft aluminum boat and diamond jig Trinidad weekly trips...something about those rock fish reminds of my other love and that's delta bassin...so recently I have gone through a couple boats (mostly bass and duck hunting style) and I realize a kayak can give me the best of both worlds and I can afford to have a really nice one and not a really crappy delta bass boat...

My next step is to get a yak that fits me 6'2 250+ and also can be stable enough for bass chasing and hopefully some ocean trips...I once had pescador 12 and really enjoyed fishing with it but never had anyone to go with and it was very narrow so  it fizzled out fast in comparison to a large bass boat I had ...but now i have some friends with yaks and might even enjoy a solo trip more...I have so many questions but don't want to be the guy that has a five page intro (too late) I hope to get to know everyone and possibly enjoy some fishing stories together...thanks in advance for the wealth of info I have already and will continue to receive...if anyone has a big guy boat in mind for me to look into new or used  or any other suggestions you can pm me and not overload the intro board with unwanted conversation...
 Excited about new adventures!!!

There are a number of new (& older) kayaks that would fit your stature with ease AND still allow you to fish.  Comes down to what feels best in your budget.

Welcome!
