I'm not exactly sure how to get where we are launching. Does anyone want to car pool, or meet up so that I can follow?

Some mapping programs show the address at the top of the directions in a different spot. Don't try so use the address to get there.

Thanks a lot traildad. I really would have gone the wrong way. I probably would have gone downriver to Rio Vista and gone way out of the way.

This one should allow you to zoom in if you want to see street names. It shows the route from Highway 113 at Binghampton rd. This part is the same no matter where you start from. The end point is the star which is at the bridge over Shag Slough. Parking is allowed on the water side (east side) of the road, but not on the bridge.

You can park on both sides of the road. Just not past the sign.

Kid friendly for picking up around the launch?  Any kid friendly fishing spots (can be shore based), like catching bluegill?

There are ample bank fishing spots near the launch.  I have seen bankies take lots of sturgeon, striper and catfish within 100 yards of the launch.

I do recommend that any kids be supervised 100% of the time. The banks can be hard to climb up from should a kid fall in.

We are looking forward to this one. I plan on sending Bio Bill out there with a easy up and prizes. Bam and I will be at the shop rigging a few kayaks for some out of town customers.

Well looks like my trip to Salt point canceled since I really don't feel like camping in the rain , so I think I will try to be here on Saturday! Hope to see you guys!

Sorry Adam, looks like my weekend plans didn't change much after all, so I'm out. I'm headed just outside Yosimite for a 4 day bow hunt. Need some venison for the freezer. Have fun n be safe. Mike
