It's been almost exactly one year since NCKA lost brother Joel "Mooch" Lotilla after a hard fought 3 year battle with breast cancer.

This year, the disease hit me even closer to home with my wife Mercy being diagnosed with breast cancer in April.  Fortunately, her tumor was caught early during her annual mammogram.  In June, she went through a 12 hour operation for a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.  Thankfully, the operation was successful.  And overall, Mercy's recovery is going well despite some complications and the never-ending schedule of doctor visits.  Mercy has been a real trooper and I'm so proud of how she's battling the disease and keeping a positive attitude through it all.

Needless to say, it was a rough summer for me, and this is why I've been laying low and not getting out much.

I registered for the Komen Race for the Cure this Sunday, September 28th because I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer.  I'm doing it for my wife Mercy ... and in memory of our friend Joel.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.  Here's the link to the my donation page:

My Mom lost the fight with breast cancer so I can relate to this "battle".  Sending good vibes to Mercy and wishing her best recovery!

Lots of love for you and Mercy. Keep up the fight!

Routine health exams are so important for early diagnosis.  When Mercy is all recovered she can be a champion for it.
