Yo Sean, I used a river2sea knife jig, same color as your pic in the HMB turny, with stingers, and it got me 2nd place with a fatty cab.
Slow fishing that day too. Anita thinks thier very pretty, but too big to hang from her ears, how small do they make 'em?!

Here the winning jig with some torpedo sinkers I swear by. Sink fast and get hit constantly. Tie my own stingers with bass plastics on them, I think the curly-tail action keeps 'em from getting snagged, I also found that using only one hook with a attractoer on it is as effective as two, and less snaggy. Tote's idea with the torpedo sinkers, less than 2 bucks a pop. Owner circle hooks
Also, when only using one stinger, you can still use two shrimp flys if you want.

Ben- Just under 3 oz appears to be the smallest.

ben, only two hooks total, so if you have a hook at the end, you can only use one shrimpfly. that is my understanding.

I like the circle hooks for anchovies or bait, a lot less gut hooks.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

hmmm.... a plastic megabait doesn't sound too effective,  :smt005.

and lead will bend and break and flake.

so you need some sort of heavy hard metal, what is a megabait made of anyways?

then there is the holographic covering.

not the mention the eye.

seems like a megabait is a lot more than the shape.

They were lead.  Eyes are stickers.  I got the paint job figured as well.  Will it be worth the hassle?  Who knows!

maybe some kind of lead alloy? seems harder than lead sinker type material.
harder than a ZZinger for example.

you can buy sheets of three-d eyes from tackle stores.

holo/prizm tape under epoxy?

sounds fun, looking forward to seeing the product!

Straight soft lead shouldn't be a problem, I've hammered out banana and torpedo weights and fished them painted with a treble without any problems.  The only downside is they produce a duller noise when bangin the bottom unlike a harder alloy.  I've spent close to $200 buying and replacing diamond jigs for the boat this season so I picked up a 4/6 oz shad jig mold at FW and am ready to smelt. Airbrushing these puppies should be fun.....we'll see how well a "NCKA" stenciled iron works vs traditional chovie  :smt001
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

Keep in mind that there's Lead, and then there are Lead Alloys. Add some Tin and Antimony, and you have a material that is much harder than pure Lead.  Heat treated wheel weight material would be just the ticket.

Are you reading my secret notes?  My neighbor owns a tire shop and have a zillion pounds of used weights to get rid of, so the material costs will be cheap.

art, that is a hefty bill, I don't think I lost more than $20 worth of terminal tackle this year.

those trebles are tough on the pocket book. I like the gamakatsu 510 assist hook used as a main hook.
