I'm scheduled to be there anyway, and would love to do an "ABC's" seminar, thanks Chuck!

I can put together some video/powerpoint stuff for that seminar.

this will be a blast!

There really does need to be a video/dvd.  I always get roped in by them.  Plus it would be a good resource for demos.  If someone asks where we store the gear or how we land fish you'd be able to open that chapter and give them a visual.

I'll help any way I can.

Great ideas already!

I have been meanng to get out and shoot some video footage so this might finally push me over the edge. I can edit it and put it on DVD. Sean lets try to figure out a way I can get your footage, if you don't mind contributing it to the cause.

I will drill holes in yaks all day as well  :smt003

I can do a seminar on how to deal with those days of not catching anything  :smt012
--practice tying exotic knots like the Bimini Twist or the Slim Beauty
--familiarize yourself with your GPS
--See how many different ways you can retrieve a swim-bait
--cast a small lure out and retireve fast along the surface to at least catch Jacksmelt
--think about taking up fly fishing so at least you get to see fish rising every trip--even if you cannot catch them

1)Film clip of a kayak launch through surf (typical surf a kayaker would paddle through to fish)
you could use some of the Volleyball girls for the demo!! You could also go over characteristics
of how to return in surf in different yaks ( The prowler tends to knife and turn faster than Scupper
   Pro, kind of thing)

2)A seminar, video or something that goes over exactly what goes on to make a fish finder work, relate
to a kayak by showing how to mount a transducer. Most guys are clueless to what they are seeing.
Also you might snag some stinkpot guys that want to learn something and maybe get them
   interested in yaks.

3) Advantages of kayaks, fishing techniques. You can get into the kelp beds and fish holes in the kelp,
Troll slower and drop your line up and down (works good on salmon at times). Getting pulled around
by a marlin. And there is the pure joy of sitting their with a big fish in your lap, wondering, where      am I going to put this thing? and how?

4) It's about time someone starting talking about kites and fishing kayaks. If you paddle upwind you can get a free ride home. Or you can do a long fishing trip from a launch site and use the kite to finish up further downwind and increase your range along the shore. I've been looking at this idea just south of Sea Ranch. It's a long run south to the next take out and there's lots of virgin territory. I bet Big Sur would have some great spot for this, too.

I've seen the kites in action, although I've never tried it myself.  You can get ripping downwind.  I believed the guys were using a kiteboarding kite.

Boat fisherman use specialized kites to get baits away from the boat a lot in SoCal.

This is completely off topic but...
Fishing from shore with kites is really big down south (i.e. Southern Hemisphere... New Zealand and South Africa).

Here's a illustration from a South African website...
