for giant urchin.  I'm looking for the biggest urchins out there.  I want the shells for a project.  So if you've seen urchin on your dives that made you go "huh, those are some obscenely large urchin", then please share with me that spot.

Thanks,
Nate

Saw a crap load out of Caspar today.  Someone was harvesting off kayak like crazy.  Big bags of large ones. I never harvested more than 2.  I will check video and post if I accidentally captured images.

The south side of Caspar Cove is protected from commercial urchin fishing, so there's some big ones out there.

True, a barren cove with nothing BUT urchins.

Shelter Cove, Cape Mendocino, and Trinidad.  You can easily pick big ones off the rocks in a decent low tide without diving.

This is what I want to do with the urchin.  It's for my daughter's room.  The idea is to have the hanging urchin tillandsia (air plants) to mimic a field of jellyfish.  The shells are so delicate that I figure I'll need a lot to experiment with to get them durable enough.

I'm also considering attaching some ab shells to the walls to give it that 3D effect.  If you guys have other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks,
Nate
