For those interested I just got the Beuchat Mundial 2 watch.
The Freediveshop in West Sac has the watch for $400, plus an extra $100 or so for the computer interface cable.
After doing some (OK a lot) of searching, I found the watch for $247 and the cable for $80.
Another $25 for shipping to have it in 2 days...from ITALY.
After the Euro conversion it was $341 out the door.
Would have been closer to $550-$600 almost anywhere else.
Here's the site. The price is in U.S.Dollars, not Euros.

They were great to deal with. Zero hassles at all.
I'm all for supporting local businesses, but an extra $250 in my pocket makes it a no brainer.
Now I see the watch is $242. Try to top that anywhere.

I also like to buy local, but only if the customer service is exceptional.  Price is important, so I always ask the local shop if they can match or come close to an online price and usually they can.  Something's have more mark up than others.  Let us know how it works out?

Same watch with the exception that the Aeris has the warning light on the side and the Beuchats entire watch face flashes. Same mfg too.
If they are ot of stock then they just ran out.
I'd shoot them an email to see if they are actually out.
They are very responsive to emails.

Just for posterity, I HIGHLY suggest the Oceanic Geo 2.0. It's on the same hardware as the Aeris F10 V2 that everyone seems to love, but it has software that gives you the opportunity to use it for scuba. All the same freedive functionality as the Aeris F10, you just switch between the scuba and freedive modes.

I got mine for something like $270 shipped from a Prime Scuba in NY who sells far below the Aeris/Oceanic allowable prices. I had to purchase the Geo 1.0, and they tell you they're "out of stock" and "honor" the 1.0 price by sending the 2.0.

No idea where I found out about the swap deal, though.

I definitely wanted a watch that DID NOT have SCUBA functions.
I had a Suunto D3 years ago but got rid of it.
For a simple reliable freedive watch this seemed to be the most affordable.
