Ok here's the full story. So early this week I had a guy calling looking for a seat for a Native Slayer Propel. When the Crack Heads took the boat they forgot to grab the seat. So last week I got a call from a guy trying to by a Native Slayer seat. Figuring he had my boat I told him that Native would not sell him a seat without a ser #. He was not into giving me the number so he hung up. I called Native and put them on high alert. The guy tried to get ahold of them and they told them the same thing. In order to sell him a seat they would need the #.

The next call I get was from the guys buddy. He said he his buddy bought the kayak off a tweaker for $300. While he was doing some research for the seat he came across this NCKA thread about the yak being stolen. His family rents from us every year and we have always taken good care of them, so he breaks the news to his buddy that the yak is stolen and that people are on the lookout for it.

So the guy who bought the kayak is now freaked out that he has a stolen boat and decides he doesn't want that kind of Karma. Still a little freaked out about having a stolen yak he has his buddy bring it back to me here at the shop.

So after about a year we got out boat back!!! It was in good shape but missing the drive :(

I still felt a little bad that the guy shelled out the $300 thinking he was getting a fishing kayak, so I hook him up with one of our Feelfree demo kayaks to reward him for doing the right thing.

The last and final piece to the puzzle is the drive. Montana Native and I found a girl selling a Propel Drive on the 209 kayakers FAcebook Group. I've shot her an email and I think I'm going to be able to buy the stolen drive back for $50. It kinda sucks that I didn't  have a SER # for the Drive, but if I get it back at least I will have the complete yak ready to go for this demo season.

Thanks again to NCKA for helping this one come full circle!!!! I could really care less about the boat, but I'm so stoked to see people do the right thing.

Dan.  Bad things happen to good people.  I'm glad you got your yak together.  Stay strong.

It's only bad if you let it be. I look at this person's honesty as a huge ray of sunshine on a dark situation. I'm personally stoked.

Did the guy who turned it in have any leads on who the tweaker was?
