I fished Miner Slough today in the Hobie.  I launched at Arrowhead Marina at 7 AM in a brisk wind and fished around the boat docks for zip.  I moved into Miner and started fishing the rip rap with swimbaits but the fish were small and would do a lot of “grabbing” but were too small to take the hook.  I changed to smaller spinner baits and started landing these monsters.   All of the 8 fish I landed were 10-12 inches and released.  I had enough of the wind by 11:30 and hauled out.  Some photos to go with the story…

Those fish are small but great fighters.  Thanks for the report and pictures kokoloco.

Great report. I fish steamboat slough a lot and have wondered how the fishing was in miner. I have found that most Dartmouth fishing in the north delta is a numbers game. For about every 20 of those small fish you hook up with a 16-18 inches. Even the small guys do fight hard though.

$10.  The ramp is ok for yaks but a POS for larger craft.  I hear they are replacing the ramp and hopefully dredging out the skinny areas.
