If her were ncka, I would have hoped he would have reached out to his ncka family for support and help rather than take his own life.  He will be missed greatly!

Man, that news kinda hit me hard. I'm not one to be star struck or anything like that, but I really liked that guy. I grew up on Mork & Mindy. Met him once briefly as a 9 or 10 year old at Baskin Robbins in Santa Rosa. He gave me an Ork handshake. Life was good that day. RIP

The Tears of a clown. Many are sad inside. they use comedy to escape and finely have to turn to other things. We do not know these peoples demons. I hope he is resting in peace now.

Depression is something rich and poor folks have in common. Sad day for his family and friends. Guy will live forever in film and that's pretty cool.

I here you brother. I had the pleasure of meeting him in a clothing store in SF about 35 years ago.
I got to shake his hand. He was very polite....definitely a shocker when I heard the news.  :smt009

Depression is much more nasty than leaving one with the ability to reach out when times are darkest and the final chapter seems the best option.  Love your friends and be glad the torture is not yours, the daily battle is not for the faint of heart.  Ask my ex.
No more to say but

Rest in Peace Robin Williams

A college roommate of mine said something to me that has always stuck.
"You never know what's going on inside another mans head."
It's so true.
I was discussing his suicide with Becky and wondered if things might have been different if he ever kayak fished?
IMO it's therapy at the highest level.
How many people here knew at one time he tried to buy the property right across the street from Red Barn???
So what if he really was an NCKA member?? One can only ponder.

The one time that I encountered Mr. Williams was some time in the late 90's. We were returning from a ski racing weekend in North Lake Tahoe. We came back through a huge snow storm. It probably took us 5+ hours to get to Auburn. By that time we all had to pee - badly. We pulled off at an exit that had a Shell station.  The line to the only restroom was really long. There was a guy a few people ahead of me and I though - "that looks like Robin Williams. Part of me said it can't be and the other part said, don't pester him, I'm sure he doesn't enjoy fans always trying to get him to say something funny. Nobody bothered him and he chatter briefly with others in the line.. After his turn, he paid for some gas and exited. I asked the Cashier was that Robin Williams? She said,  Yes, I've got his signature", while holding up his receipt.
Then it  was my turn. Let's just say that the yellow contents of the toilet hadn't been flushed recently and it was about to overflow.  As I very carefully added to the contents, I remember thinking, Yep we all have to pee in the same pot!
When I exited I saw him in a top end Range Rover, gunning it and bouncing heavily as it went over a speed bump  and dashed into the street. I don't  know if was  trying to make up time or if he was trying to avoid fans.

It could happen to the person standing in line next to you at an NCKA event.

Depression is a disease that robs you of your ability to get the help you need from friends, family, or medical professionals. It is truly awful disease.

Hope he's at peace, wherever he is.

Man, this news hit me hard for sure.  He was one of my favorite actors, watched all his movies growing up.  So sad to know that he was struggling so much and only found peace through suicide...very sad.

He will be missed dearly.

A couple of pictures I posted on my FB..
I remember being a little boy and staring at the t.v....that moment ...when I realized that being different...might just turn out to be a good thing
