my buddy just forwarded pictures from his buddy...who found a "great white baby" and pushed it back into the water where it swam away...story is just coming together as everyone is playing work day short call phone tag.
I recognized the shark and believe it is a salmon shark...

here are the pics from earlier today

location of "monterey beach" is all i know for now

No doubter salmon shark.  Hope he made it.  How come if there's so many salmon sharks out there that we catch so few?

Cool little shark!  Did anyone actually confirm it as a salmon shark though?  I can't make out the caudal area to see if it has two keels.  That's a surefire way to tell salmon sharks and white sharks apart at this size.

The second dorsal & anal fins are pretty close...which is what made me think salmon shark.

There is a 18 foot Salmon Shark, lurking around the San Simeon area. I'm heading over to camp there today. maybe I'll get a peak of it.
