I recently bought a brand new Wheeleez beach kayak cart and put it to use for the first time today.  It's so big that I transported it in the bed of my truck secured to the kayak (since all my gear was taking up the room inside the cab).  Anyway, when I got home, I realized that one of the wheels/tires must have worked itself loose and fell off during the trip.  So now I have a brand new Wheeleez with one wheel.  :smt013  Those wheels aren't cheap either.

Anyone found a better way to secure them instead of using that POS pin they come with?

First time I ever heard the pin works itself out.  If you're not remove the pins often then you could tie the lock rings with a small wire to prevent it pop-up.

Wow, that really sucks!  I had one get pulled in the back seat of my truck, but noticed it before I loaded the yak.  I tried to figure out a fail safe for losing the pins, but it is beyond my tech grade.  Anybody?

I've lost them as well as many members here have Sonny. You must be a lucky gut not to have one disappear. Best way to save them is to tether them on. Not sure how though.

Wire would work, but it would have to be detachable in order to remove wheels.  If you don't ever remove wheels, then that would solve problem.  I wouldn't want to go that route.

Man that's a bummer!  Someone recently asked about the same question on the forum, so maybe you'll find another solution than mine.
I lost the clips a couple of times before I went to OSH and bought what I think are called Linch Pins  ( in the area where they keep the odd washers and cabinet pegs and such)- they look like giant hair pins, with one straight side and the other has a bump built in.  You push the straight side into the axle hole until the bump on the other side bounces over the outside of the axle. The bump and the spring effect holds the pin in and against the hub.  Mine are about 3" long - I got the biggest ones that had a diameter of leg that would fit in the hole.  They aren't stainless, but it doesn't matter. If they corrode, I just sand them off and Corrosion X them so they slide in easily.  If you take the wheels off and want to stow them in your hatch, and don't want the pins sticking out at the end of the axle, there's a couple of holes up where the pads on the frame are that they'll fit into and be more out of the way. By the way, if you take your cart apart on the beach, be careful not to get sand into the hole in the hub - it makes getting the wheel on the axle hard, though if it happens, you can fairly easily get the sand out with a rag or paper towel, or just rinse it out in the water ( then rinse it with fresh water later).
I haven't lost the linch pins in the about 6 years I've had them on the cart.

Go to an ACE hardware and replace them with the same style of pin.... except the ones from ACE have a stronger snap back on the ring. I haven't lost another one after that day.

+1 to this, the ones from a hardware store have a much stronger spring.

If you are out and about and have lost a pin, a stick works in a pinch but will need frequent checking on a long pull.

For anyone interested or who may want to avoid the same problem I had, the attached photos show what I ended up doing to fix the problem. (The hitch pin part is from Home Depot.) So far it looks like it'll be pretty solid.

I always keep an extra pair of pins in my plano box.

I lost my factory Wheeleeze pin on a walk to the coast, so I upgraded to a couple of these in the "Mini SIze" category. THe ones not rated for climbing are the smallest.
1st Place in a private tournament I did not invite anyone else to be in. (and I barely squeaked out a victory)

Push that bad boy down all the way to the bend and that pin for sure won't come out.

Why is that Jim?

+1 to Sean.
