New to NCKA. I live in the East Bay but I'm out here working for the summer in Boise ID putting out Wildland fires. I'm interested in picking up a kayak when I come back home in the fall. I have read through other threads with the same questions I have and have learned a lot already, but I'll ask anyway:
Any recommendations or advice for a first kayak?
I want to use it in lakes for trout and bass.

I have no experience on a kayak and not the most experienced fisherman either. But this is something I'd like to pick up and I look forward to learning a lot from all of you.
Thanks!

WelcomeToTheMadness!!
......do some research right here on what you think would fit your needs. There are so many different yaks out there it will make your head spin and your wallet flat.

I keep it simple and it works for me.

I suggest going to a local kayak shop that supports NCKA and look, touch, test paddle (or pedal) a few that look appealing.

You have found the easiest way to get started by finding NCKA.

Welcome to NCKA DPetros  :smt006  I second what Adam said.
